Here is a sure way forward towards relieving the plight of farmers in the Philippines: securing an order of at least 5kg of rice from Session Groceries.

Session Groceries is an online grocery service that started to cater only to households in Baguio. Recently, they expanded their business and reached out to more consumers down south, particularly to NCR, Laguna, and Cavite.

The online market sells general food supplies (such as dried, frozen, canned, fresh), certain non-edible articles like school supplies, personal or pet care items, AND from September 13 this year, RICE—straight from farmers.

On Session Groceries’ Facebook Page, you can read posts about the official launch of the pre-selling of local rice on September 13. From this day, you can exclusively place your order through the Session Groceries mobile app.

If you want to meet the farmers in person and buy directly from them, there is an upcoming meet-up with the farmers on September 28 in BGC. Dinorado and Sinandomeng rice varieties are expected to be available in the venue for selling at Php45-50 per kilogram.

It is important to know that because you are “buying directly” from the farmers, most of your payment, if not all, goes straight to their pocket.

Shopping with convenience and with a heart

Like in any other online shopping sites, buying from Sessions Groceries is convenient with no line, no traffic, and no unpredictable rain…

Also, with services like Session Groceries, you are not only giving yourself shopping convenience, more importantly, you are helping the farmers earn due profit from what they worked hard for.
