What a fantastic night it was to celebrate Thanksgiving while receiving the Best Personal Blogger 2024 award from the Best Cebu Blogs Awards (BCBA)! My heart is overflowing with gratitude, and I’m genuinely touched to be recognized in this way. It was an unforgettable evening at Oakridge Horizons Cafe, filled with joy, love, and a profound sense of community.
The event took place at Oakridge Horizons Cafe, a beautiful venue situated in Oakridge Business Park. It was my first visit to the cafe, although I had previously been in the area looking for light fixtures for our clinic and applying for my Japan visa at the Friendship Tours office. The entrance to Horizons Cafe is located on the far right side of the building, next to a Marketplace (which is not the entrance). You’ll see the elevator that takes you up to the fifth floor. Once I arrived, I was warmly greeted by the lovely staff at the registration area, and we posed for photos at the BCBA awards backdrop with the official photographer.
A Warm and Inviting Atmosphere
The atmosphere inside the cafe was warm and welcoming, adorned with decorations that made the space feel alive and vibrant. I was eager not only to celebrate my achievement but also to honor the accomplishments of all the talented bloggers in our community.
As the evening progressed, I enjoyed reconnecting with friends and fellow bloggers. We shared heartfelt stories and laughter, reminding ourselves of why we love what we do. I felt a special bond with everyone present, knowing we’re part of a larger community that supports and encourages each other. It was a night filled with smiles, hugs, and moments of pride.

Listening to the acceptance speeches from each of the winners was equally inspiring. Some, like Aldrich Infantado, the Best Cebu Travel Blogger of 2024 from bisayatraveler.com, have won multiple times, while others, like Ma Elena Talagon, the Best Cebu Facebook Food Vlogger of 2024 from Cebuano Cravings, were celebrating their first win, just like me. Everyone had a heartfelt story to share, and I was grateful to hear about their journeys overcoming challenges and finally seeing their hard work pay off.
