In my life, sneakers have never been a personal choice. I’ve always received hand-me-downs or occasional gifts from my uncle, and after getting married, my husband continued this tradition by buying me sneakers — almost always from Nike. Recently, I experienced a shift that made me reflect on the Law of Manifestation. This might be the reminder you need: amazing things can happen when we let go of our attachments and expectations, so be sure to read to the end.

The Unraveling Begins

So, my family and I traveled to Baguio City to celebrate Christmas. On our way back to Manila, we stopped at NLEX, planning to buy a Christmas gift for my son at a Nike outlet store and enjoy a much-needed lunch. I was eager to find great deals, having often discovered discounts of up to 50%. My son chose a simple white pair of sneakers for about 5,500 pesos, even with his dad suggesting other options…

Just a side note: as a parent, you want to see your kid excited about something you are purchasing for them, or at least something they will be using, like a pair of shoes. Otherwise, you second-guess whether it’s really worth the money or if it will truly bring joy to your child… In my son’s case, it seemed like he didn’t care much about the shoes, which left me a bit unsatisfied with the supposed purchase. But anyway, I still went ahead to the cashier.

As I got ready to pay, my husband started sending me pictures of sneakers from Puma. Our son showed some interest in a few pairs, so we ditched Nike and went to the Puma store, but they didn’t have his size. As we were looking at some white sneakers, my husband decided to check out Adidas next door and sent photos of the white sneakers there. My son liked some of the pictures, so we decided to head to Adidas.

Discovering Adidas

Inside the Adidas store, my son found a pair of classic Advantage sneakers in his size for 4,900 pesos. I felt a surge of excitement, as this was a fantastic deal compared to the usual prices at malls. I also realized it was even cheaper than the Nike pair he had chosen earlier — which I didn’t particularly like anyway. So, I took the Adidas pair, had my kid try them on, and went ahead to the cashier to pay.

While checking out, the cashier informed us about a buy-one-get-one promotion! I immediately thought my husband should get a pair so they could have matching father-and-son sneakers. Then I remembered that he had just received my Christmas gift — a pair of Nike running shoes — so he encouraged me to pick a pair for myself instead.

Excited by this idea, I returned to the shoe section and selected my very first pair of Adidas sneakers!

Until now I still could not believe it. Not only did I get a new pair for myself, but I also benefited from a fantastic shopping deal that I hadn’t even planned for.

The Law of Manifestation in Action

Reflecting on this experience helped me understand the Law of Manifestation on a deeper level.

We often become too attached to our desires, which can create stress and prevent us from achieving what we want.

Last year, I had my heart set on a pair of white sneakers but never managed to buy them, even though I had the money. I now believe that my intense desire may have pushed them away.

When we can let go of our specific desires and stop fixating on them, wonderful opportunities can present themselves.

By focusing on my family’s needs during our shopping trip and allowing the experience to unfold naturally, I attracted something special into my life — my very own pair of white classic Adidas sneakers!

A Deeper Lesson in Manifestation

Of course, the lesson here extends beyond just acquiring shoes…

Manifestation is a powerful tool we can apply to both small and large aspects of our lives. Whether it’s a new job, a healthy relationship, or personal growth, the principle is the same: by releasing our grip on the outcome and trusting the process, we allow positive experiences to flow into our lives.

If you ever find yourself desiring something too intensely, remember: the best things often come unexpectedly.

I’d say truly embrace spontaneity and remain open to life’s surprises, just as I did during my shopping sort-of-adventure.

Parting Words

Ultimately, my experience to getting a new pair of classic Adidas sneakers was not just about shoes. It was a beautiful reminder that when we let go of attachments and expectations, new doors open.

So, this New Year, take a moment to relax and enjoy the journey. You might just find that life has something wonderful in store for you!
