Hello, everyone! I’m back with another exciting experience from Cebu and this time it’s with the Euro Xtreme Circus Breakout Tour in the Philippines, the largest international circus to visit the country.

I attended this event with the Cebu Blogger Society (CBS), thanks to Sir Avel Manansala, the marketing director of Euro Xtreme Circus and co-founder of SOX Bloggers in GenSan. A special thank you to Ms. Kimberly Lee, the president of Art Box Entertainment, and Kenneth Yu, the Philippine producer of the circus, for providing us with VIP tickets.

Getting There

We took a Grab from Cebu Business Park to SRP, just a short walk from SM Seaside. (Did you know that you can checkout and hoard GrabCar vouchers from Grab Shop on Lazada or Shoppee for bigger savings???)

For directions, you can pin your location near Calungsod Church or Ocean Park on the Grab app and mention you’re headed to the circus near the city wing of SM Seaside. There is parking space available, but expect long lines and some motorcycles, which are part of the earlier show.

Our Experience

I (and my husband) joined other CBS bloggers and their companions, receiving a warm welcome from the Xtreme Circus onsite staff.

The outside area was packed with people. I noticed at least three foundations present, each with around 30 attendees, likely attending as VIPs in support of causes like breast cancer awareness and an all-boys foundation, along with another organization whose name I didn’t catch. They entered before us, and then Sir Avel kindly escorted us to our seats.

Our VIP seats provided a great view, right in front of the stage. The venue was well-ventilated and spacious, ensuring a comfortable experience.

Show Highlights

With the gala night in full swing, the highlights included the Flying Trapeze, which made me regret not taking trapeze classes in BGC when they were available. However, it was wonderful to see my husband enjoy reminiscing about his own flying trapeze days. The Wheel of Suspense raised the bar for audience expectations, keeping everyone on the edge of their seats.

Chupetin, the Circus Clown from Ecuador, consistently entertained us, especially during equipment changes and preparations for the next act. I initially doubted he could maintain the audience’s energy, but he certainly proved me wrong! His name might sound like “Tiyo Pating” or “Uncle Shark” in English, but he truly brought the fun.

Another exciting act featured Comedy by Max, originally from Italy but with experience performing in New York. He happily shared stories with my husband during the meet and greet afterward—and he even made Joshua famous! If you’re in VIP seats, be prepared to be invited to participate in the act, while those in the bleachers also have great chances, depending on the performers’ mood.

My personal favorite was the Aerial Silk performance, which I filmed because I loved it so much. Having dabbled in pole dancing, aerial silk, and hoop acts, I understand how challenging these performances can be. Katarina from Slovakia not only showcased incredible talent but was also incredibly gracious and humble when we approached her during the meet and greet.

The Motorcycle Daredevil duo, Jonatan from Brazil and Evelio from Spain, delivered breathtaking stunts right in front of us.

And let me not forget the death-defying acts performed by the show producer, Cezar Magic from Romania.

If you love musicals, you’ll definitely enjoy the opening and closing performances by the EuroXtreme Musical Ensemble. The main singer, Nelli from Ukraine, mesmerized us with her ability to sing both ballads and upbeat songs like “Let’s Get Loud,” all while dancing professionally with her fellow performers.

Tips for a Great Experience

For Best Seats: Arrive to the venue early so you can pick your seat as it is general seating

Food: Buy snacks like popcorn and cotton candy before the show to avoid missing any acts.

Portable Toilets: Use them during performances to avoid lines; they are well-maintained.

Attire: Dress comfortably in trainers or flats. The venue is cool, so a light jacket is advisable.
