The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by everything relaxing—scent, music, ambience, lighting, the smile of the receptionist as she attended to me. I immediately knew I was in for a two-hour ultimate pampering experience.
Pyoor Spa offers a variety of face, body, and beauty treatments. For this visit, I tried the 24K Gold Facial.

I know a facial should begin with a consultation. But I think because the treatment works miracles for all skin types, there is nothing to consult about – unless you are actually allergic to gold… also, in each step of the process, the esthetician discusses contraindications, so I understand if there’s no sit-down moment before going to the facial room.
1. Scalp massage and hair combing
The esthetician asked me if it is okay to comb my curly hair. Apparently, the facial starts with a scalp massage and yes, combing the hair! And it was very relaxing. She also explained the importance of massaging the scalp and combing hair every time. It provides deep relaxation (SO TRUE!) to the head and scalp, allowing easier blood circulation to the hair roots. With improved blood circulation on the scalp, the hair roots get nourished which triggers hair growth and also gives the hair natural shine!
2. Cleansing
After the massage, the esthetician wrapped my hair with a headband and started thorough cleansing followed by a diamond peel. You can check my Instagram stories to see snippets of the procedures.
3. Steam
A cold gel patch was put onto my eyes and then warmed my face with a thin vapor of steam.
4. Extractions
This is the part I wish to avoid but at the same time, I look forward to experiencing. Luckily, the esthetician was gentle yet meticulous in removing blackheads or whiteheads. There were instances I got teary-eyed but the pain brought by pricking was tolerable. I am satisfied too by how thoroughly she removed dirt from my face. I really feel cleaner.
5. High-frequency
Not really sure how it’s called but yeah the slightly painful pricking was followed up with a high-frequency glass electrode placed on my skin. The electrode generates a little current to help kill bacteria and help the skin heal. Sounds painful but it is not. No discomfort at all.
6. 24K Gold Facial Mask
Next, the therapist applied the gold mask. It felt like other masks although it became a wee bit itchy when it dried. Which I think, again, is like other masks. The gold mask was put on to my face for 20 minutes.
7. Galvanic facial with the 24k Gold Essence
After the gold mask was removed, the gold essence was applied using a medium-amperage direct current. Like the high-frequency it sounds scary but it’s again, painless, also does wonders to the skin – particularly it stimulates skin cells, softens skin, and drive 24k Gold Essence deep into the skin layers.
8. 24k Gold Evening Gel
The final application involved applying 24k Gold Evening Gel onto my face. It smelled and felt amazing.

Like I said, It was nothing like I’ve tried before. I am blown away by how smooth and fresh my skin was. Unfortunately, my battery drained I didn’t get to take post-treatment photos BUT I SWEAR, my skin was rejuvenated, tightened, has better clarity.
I was expecting red spots. You know the marks you get after a facial? But with Pyoor Spa’s 24K Gold Facial, there’s none. My face is what I can call a “date-ready” face even without makeup. It just looks and feels so fresh! I felt pretty and stress-free afterwards!
The treatment for me is a 15/10. It exceeded my expectation and left me genuinely happy! My skin stayed clear with a healthy glow for up to a week after the treatment.

2021 UPDATE: HAIR REBOND (using MONEA) plus bleach and hair dye. If you want to do the hair treatment yourself, if you don’t have time to go to the salon, if you are feeling adventurous, if you wanna save on hair care expenses, this article is made just for you!
I just finished rebonding my bleached hair last night. Yes. My hair is colored (and bleached heavily) 6 months ago. And this week, I just need a fix for my hair but really don’t have the luxury of time to stay at the salon for 10 hours. My awesome salon stylist really takes care of my hair and so the process of all the treatment for my unruly hair takes time. I’ll go see her next month for Brazilian Blowout treatment. But for now, I’ll share about what I did to my hair and how it turned out. Let me start with a background of my hair:
About my hair
1 – Chemically treated every year since (probably high school)
2 – The most reent treatment was in June 2020 at the salon
3 – Had hair rebond, bleach, hair color, Brazilian blowout
4 – Often subjected to heat for styling (mostly curling) – well, if you ask why do I have it straightened only to curl it, the answer is simple I like it not fizzy and relatively less bouncy. I also don’t like the waves near the crown. I like them just at the mid part to the tips of my hair.
5 – Only use conditioner for my hair these past months, can’t go to the salon for proper keratin treatment
Products I used (AND COST)
(Bought them at SM store; you can also buy them online – I inserted the links where to purchase)
8 – Electric fan (I don’t have a blower, if you have it it would be more convenient but I recommend the fan to really see how effective the chemicals reacted on straightening your hair)
The rebonding process is easy. The products to use come with easy-to-follow instructions. Anyhow I’ll break them down for you:
STEP 1 – APPLYING MONEA HAIR CREAM 1
Rinse hair to remove dirt and excess oil, dry it off completely
Divide hair into 4 sections using hair clip grip (or anything you can use)
Apply Monea Hair Rebond Cream #1 on paper thin strands starting from the nape to the crown (just like when you are dyeing your hair) ***Avoid applying the cream to the eyes or the scalp***
Clamp the hair and cover with shower cap (or any plastic)
Rinse off Monea Hair Rebond Cream # 1 ***DO NOT SHAMPOO, JUST USE WATER***
Dry hair COMPLETELY
Divide into 4 sections
Now this is the tedious part—IRON HAIR meticulously: Take paper thin strands and iron until straight, lustrous and bouncy (this would take hours I know) ***try to avoid sweating***
After ironing up to the crown, let your hair cool for 5 minutes
After that apply Monea Hair Rebond Cream #2 from crown to nape covering all the hair strands (again, do it like you’re colouring your hair)
Then, cover hair with plastic, use heating cap for 20 minutes if you have it at home or just cover with hot towel.
Rinse off ***DO NOT SHAMPOO, JUST USE WATER***
II. BLEACHING
For my hair bleach, I used OMG developer and MONEA highlights pro. I mixed this together and applied to my damp hair. IMPORTANT NOTE: THERE IS NO SKIN TEST FOR SENSITIVITY TO BLEACH THAT YOU CAN PERFORM. Each of us has a different sensitivity or tolerance to bleaching. When you apply the bleach to the hair, it is common to feel burning sensation, but if you feel a severe discomfort during the process, you have to stop and rinse your scalp right away.
For the bleaching, I followed the instruction written on the bottle and on the plastic packet. I applied the bleach first to my hair regrowth and after a few minutes (based on what is written in the instruction on the sachet) I combed it down to the rest of my hair strands. After my hair is bleached, I rinsed it with water.
III. HAIR COLOR
For my hair color, I used L’OREAL. I just followed the instructions written on the manual that comes with the box.
IV. CONDITIONING
Rinse off with water ***DO NOT SHAMPOO***
Use hair conditioner: leave for 5 minutes
Rinse off ***do not shampoo***
Dry hair
Iron again and let set for 3 days ***DO NOT WASH HAIR FOR AT LEAST 3 DAYS***
My hair looks really soft and straight and shiny because the chemicals were newly applied. I expect a little change however after I wash this on Tuesday… Nevertheless, I know that my hair will be more manageable, softer, shinier, and straighter THAN before the rebond.
As you can see, it is not THAT bouncy and shiny – because i wasn’t able to iron it well 🙂 But i am happy with the result because it is so much better than unrebonded hair.
For those who want to try, I’m leaving you guys with some pointers:
I don’t recommend rebonding your own hair at home if:
– you don’t know your hair strands that well
– you have sensitive skin
– you have chemical allergies
– you are pregnant!!!!
– you don’t have a good ceramic hair iron
– you expect your hair to be like that of Sarah G in the commercials
My newly grown hair began to give the least appealing waves on the crown [and perhaps me worrying about it too much had spawned 3 huge pimples on my face] so I decided to rebond my hair last night, ALONE, inside my room… I worked on my magic from 8 PM and finished 3 AM today…. Whew! The long hours of rebonding was tedious but I’d say it’s worth it!
Here are the products I used (bought them all from WATSONS in SM CITY TAYTAY):
Ceramic Hair Iron with up to 220 degrees C adjustable heat
4 Hair Clip Grip
1 Tint brush
1 Plastic comb
Pair of gloves
3 shower caps
Yeah baby!

Rinse off with water ***DO NOT SHAMPOO***
Use hair conditioner: leave for 5 minutes
Rinse off ***do not shampoo***
Dry hair
Iron again and let set for 3 days ***DO NOT WASH HAIR FOR AT LEAST 3 DAYS***
…waiting for breakfast.. I must say I love my new hair color 🙂
